2011 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Sleepers: Percy Harvin

My first wide receiver sleeper is practically a DeSean Jackson clone.  He gets special teams points plus receiving and some rushing yards too.

It is Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin.  He hasn’t been seeing much drafting love based on his lower than expected ADP rankings.  He is a guy that maybe you can snag easily in round 5 or 6 but still get stellar numbers from him.  Last year in 14 games Harvin had 71 receptions 868 yards and 6 TD’s.  That was with aged old and beat down Brett Favre at quarterback.  Harvin will also be the main receiving threat since Sidney Rice left via free agency much like he was for most of last season.  Donovan McNabb is only a Washington Redskin washout year removed from throwing balls to my comparison here DeSean Jackson and has to be an improvement over Favre a year ago.  Plus Harvin is entering that “magical third year” for a wide receiver which is suppose to be when he matures.  My prediction is that he finishes as the 16th best wide receiver overall but he does have top ten potential with his rushing and special teams skills added in.
