2011 NFL Draft Player Spotlight: AJ Green

AJ Green is a 6’4″ 211″ junior from the University of Georgia.  He missed some time in his junior season due to NCAA violation of selling one of his jerseys for a profit or he would have had an even better final college season.

That said, Green is probably the top wide receiver prospect in the 2011 NFL Draft.  His scout evaluation for the combine at NFL.com can be found here.

Here are some highlights of AJ Green’s time at Georgia:

Freshman Year

Sophomore Year

Junior Year

Some want to compare AJ to Randy Moss or Larry Fitzgerald due to his leaping ability and hands.  I initially wanted to compare him to Plaxico Burress for the same reasons.  But after taking a look at him on tape for another time, I think AJ Green is simply AJ Green.  He has a huge receiving radius and can go up and get most balls thrown his way which will make him lethal in the red zone at the next level.  He lacks the elite speed that Moss had, but has adequate speed.  He will be a star and be a talent in his own right.

Here are AJ Green’s college statistics:
