2011 Offseason Team Needs: NFC South
This is a continuation of our off season team needs series. This time we examine the NFC South teams.
Carolina Panthers
QB- Jimmy Clausen
RB- DeAngelo Williams???, Jonathan Stewart
WR- Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell
TE- Jeff King
Needs - Everything but running back
Jonathan Stewart is entrenched as the future running back starter here. The other positions could use major upgrading. Don’t expect to see the Panthers contending in the short run.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
QB- Josh Freeman
RB- LeGarette Blount, Carnell Williams
WR- Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn
TE- Kellen Winslow
Needs - Maturity at all the positions
This is a talented young team. They just need for all that talent to gel together.
New Orleans Saints
QB- Drew Brees
RB- Pierre Thomas???, Reggie Bush
WR- Marques Colston, Lance Moore
TE- Jeremy Shockey, Jimmy Graham
Needs - off season decision made at running back position
All of the other major fantasy positions are fine but running back. They have to decide if they want to stick with the oft injured tandem of Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush or to go in another direction in the upcoming draft. Ryan Williams would be a good selection for this team.
Atlanta Falcons
QB- Matt Ryan
RB- Michael Turner, Jason Snelling
WR- Roddy White, Michael Jenkins
TE- Tony Gonzalez
Needs – Another wide receiver to go with Roddy White and a tight end to replace Tony Gonzalez.
For the passing game to take the next step under Matt Ryan, another youthful target at the receiver position must be found. A backup for Tony Gonzalez would be nice too.
