2014 fantasy football | UPDATED wide receiver projections for Week 3

Just like with the running back projections we have some injury concerns (A.J. Green and DeSean Jackson, among the biggest) I will avoid tonight at sites like FanDuel where lineups lock and you can’t make changes.

If you can change your lineup until game time, monitor the injury status. Typically if a player practices on Friday it’s a good bet he’ll play.

Let’s get to some talking points, because I know you guys will have questions when you scroll down a few more lines.

Kelvin Benjamin, as the Panthers primary receiver has a scintillating matchup. Last season, Pittsburgh allowed an average –AVERAGE — of 9.3 catches and 83 yards receiving to No. 1 receivers, according to Football Outsiders.

Yes, Sammy Watkins is in a similar situation. San Diego only allowed an average of 8 catches to No. 1 wide receivers in 2013, but they allowed 77 yards and, according to FO’s DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average), were actually less effective aginst WR1s than the Steelers.
