Anything left in the tank for Holt, Harrison?[FFB]

Fading stars are one pool of players in a fantasy draft that often goes unnoticed but can reap major benefits. Well, if you hit it on target and land the fading star who has one year left in them.
It’s happened before: Drew Bledsoe in Buffalo, Jamal Lewis in Cleveland and Jerry Rice in Oakland. How do you know when to pull the trigger and when to pass?
Will Marvin Harrison have a 40 to 50 catch season in him? How about Torry Holt?
Is it position-sensitive?
Does Willis McGahee have a good year left in him? How about Thomas Jones?
Tony Gonzalez isn’t getting any younger … Does Chris Chambers have an ounce of burst in him? What ever happened to Shaun Alexander?
Could it be that Edgerrin James will bounce back? I guess quarterback is the best position to swing this shock value pick. It worked last year with Kurt Warner. Could it work with Jeff Garcia this year, if he lands in a West Coast offense?
So many questions, let us know what you think in the comments.

    Jay-Mo,
Of all the guys you mention, the first two — Holt and Harrison — have the best chance to have good seasons. Yes, they both relied on speed to break games open, but with a fresh start and in a new role, it’s hard not to expect productive fantasy numbers from either of them.

With any of these players — it all boils down to the situation they find themselves in. Torry Holt or Marvin Harrison in a place like San Francisco, where the QB situation is majorly in-flux (as is the rest of the team)? I wouldn’t touch them fantasy-wise. However, put either Holt or Harrison on a team like the Eagles, who already have an up-and-coming talent at WR (DeSean Jackson) a quality QB (Donovan McNabb) and a need for a veteran WR2 … and I think there are big things in store. If the Eagles miss out on Boldin and other higher-end young WR opportunities (Braylon Edwards?), than I think that either Holt or Harrison could provide some really nice stats in Philly. They also could be sneaky-good on a team like the Giants depending on the Plaxico situation. Many people didn’t give Corey Dillon much of a chance after he and his aging skill set left the Bengals several years ago, but he surprised many with some solid stats in New England. If, however, Dillon went to a team with a less-prominent situation, we probably never would have heard from him again.

This is why I think that a player like Fred Taylor could be an interesting late-round pickup in larger fantasy leagues this summer.
