2016 Draft Kit

Boom or bust PPR flex (RB/WR/TE) projections for Playoffs Week 1

We have a few things to talk about in this PPR flex projections list. They should affect how you build your daily fantasy teams this week, especially at Draft Kings where receptions are worth a full point.

Let’s get to it.

One of the most notable changes is Greg Olsen moving into the top 5. I feel like he is a must-own in cash games..

There are three Carolina receivers in the top 14 and four Pitttsburgh receivers in the top 20. That tells me we we need to stop any hedging about starting Ben Roethlisberger or Cam Newton.

Daniel Herron and Martavis Bryant are a surprise in the top 10, especially with Torrey Smith and T.Y. Hilton on the outside looking in. Again, these are boom-or-bust projections, meant to present statistical and matchup based contrarian plays.

If you are in a playoffs-long league, don’t bench Hilton or Smith over Bryant this week.

UPDATE – JAN. 3

I have a few more notes from the Steelers-Ravens game that really need to be addressed.

1. Haloti Ngata is expected back for the Ravens which means their run-stuffing defense got stuffier.

2. Troy Polamalu is expected back for the Steelers, whose defense can use all the help it can get.

3. Weather is expected to be bad — 100% chance of precipitation with high winds. This is typically only a bad thing for kickers and for some passing games. Ben Roethlisberger is a mudder. Joe Flacco doesn’t like the Super Bowl being played in cold weather, but he did throw 13 TDs and only 5 interceptions with two rushing touchdowns in November and December.
