San Francisco is one of the top-10 most effective defenses against tight ends so I had to cut Julius Thomas‘ projecitons a bit.
It still wasn’t enough to drop him from the top spot — even though it was a positive matchup for our No. 2 tight end, Rob Gronkowski.
Yeah, I know Gronkowski already played and he didn’t have a great game. But that’s not going to stop me from following my process.
Our top matchup for tight ends this week is Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener for the Colts against the Bengals.
Cincinnati has allowed 11.1 catches and 93.2 yards per game to opposing tight ends. There should be enough for both Colts tight ends to eat. It also doesn’t hurt that Luck likes to feed the tight ends when they get near the goal line.
