The projections machine and matchups really gave us some interesting results at running back this week.
I’ve said it again and I’ll keep saying it. It’s championship week, so play your best players. Don’t get too cute.
We’re down on LeSean McCoy this week, but that doesn’t mean you should bench him for Doug Martin or Roy Helu.
Our projections say start Steven Jackson over Jamaal Charles. Don’t do that either. BUT, if you’re considering Jackson for your flex spot or something, you should probably start him.
Here are the running backs I suspect I’ll have most of this week in daily fantasy, which I also think would make for nice starts or flex plays in your championship game: C.J. Anderson, Lamar Miller, Fred Jackson, Latavius Murray, Daniel Herron and Tre Mason.
I’m not going to deep dive on all of those guys. If you’re here at Chinstrap Ninjas, it probably means you know the kinds of players these guys are. I like the matchups for most of them.
Miller, especially with Daniel Thomas out, is going to get the kind of volume he deserves. C.J. Spiller‘s return doesn’t concern me too much. Jackson has been getting a lot of touches anyway. If the Raiders can upset the Bills it’s going to be because Latavius Murray goes over 100 yards and scores a couple touchdowns.
Mason is the one without a great matchup. Still, here’s how I see the Giants-Rams game panning out. The Rams pick off Eli Manning at least twice and get at least one defensive touchdown. While Eli struggles, Odell Beckham Jr. still gets close to 100 yards and a touchdown. Mason grinds down the clock and gets in the end zone at least once on an insurance score. I’m stacking Mason and the Rams defense in a lot of lineups this week. I might have Mason in every lineup at Draft Kings.
Be careful if you start DeMarco Murray. He had his hand surgically repaired this week. Even if he plays they may limit his work in the passing game. He also might not play at all.
