Boom or bust tight end projections for NFL Playoffs: Conference Championships

Rob Gronkowski is our top tight end this week with a bullet.

He’s a must-own if you’re playing cash games this week. In tournaments he’s probably a must-own too. I would recommend pivoting with Coby Fleener, Dwayne Allen or Luke Willson in a lineup or two, but I wouldn’t get too cute.

The Colts have given up the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in the last five games of the regular season and gave up 58.2 yards per game to them this season.

The only players with better matchups are Fleener and Allen, but they hurt each others’ value.

Willson was almost forgettable during the regular season, but after catching four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown in the divisional round we have to consider him as a pivot option when you’re not picking Gronkowski.

Of course, the Jack Doyles and Andrew Quarlesses of the world are an unexpected touchdown away from providing extreme value.
