The number one player in this year’s rookie class is not Ryan Mathews. It is Dez Bryant.
First of all, barring some sort of trade situation the team that is picking first is the worse team. That team needs a consistent year-in, year-out producer. Sockonfl predicted 75-85 1100-1200 yards and 6 touchdowns for Bryant, and that seems like a good gauge for me. So if he produces around those numbers you would be a pretty happy owner. Throw in that he will likely achieve more touchdowns as time goes on with a solid quarterback like Tony Romo at the helm, he should be a very good wide out for years to come. It should tell you something that more tight ends were picked (20) than running backs (14) in 2010.
Jermaine Gresham was the first TE picked and went in the first round, as expected. Rob Gronkowski was second, another likely choice.
However, the team that took Gronkowski — the Patriots — also took Aaron Hernandez, arguably the third-best tight end in the draft, two rounds later.
The Texans, Ravens and Rams also picked two TEs each.
Here is a list of every TE picked in the 2010 NFL Draft, ordered by selection: Continue reading ‘All 20 tight ends picked in the 2010 NFL Draft’

As some prognosticators predicted, Demaryius Thomas was picked before Dez Bryant.
Teams went defense heavy during much of the draft, making for many believed skill player values at the end of the draft.
Whether those skill players deserved higher picks or got what they deserved remains to be seen. We’ll know more soon enough, and we’ll take plenty of fantasy guesses before we get any official word. You know us.
For now, let’s take at every wide receiver picked in the 2010 draft, ordered by overall selection: Continue reading ‘All 27 wide receivers selected in the 2010 NFL Draft’
