We’re working on a cool new project and we need help from the Ninja Army.
In the comments, please post the favorite fantasy team name you’ve ever used and the favorite one you’ve ever seen used by an opponent.
If you remember, please specify if the name was used in a fantasy baseball or a fantasy football league.

This community rocks so hard that we couldn’t turn our amps up to 11. We’d have to find one that goes to 111.
You guys are so awesome that we have to invent a new scale to measure your awesome. And that new scale needs a new word. My vote goes to Ultramegatacular. Continue reading ‘Letter from the editors: Hey Ninjas, you rock to a power beyond classification’

Editor’s note: Scott’s fantasy baseball origin story is, hopefully, the first post of many by him here at www.chinstrapninjas.com. Scott is a good friend and an esteemed sports journalist who has decided to join our ranks. Please welcome him with applause and comments.
The Holy Grail, I was reminded time and again, stood 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and 180 pounds.
Impressive size for a grail, I’m guessing. Not so much for the best player in baseball.
Yet his was the name we were anxiously waiting to see, huddled around our computer screens.
We were told to covet him, so we did. Continue reading ‘The Holy Grail, fantasy league bring the baseball soul back to life’

Just a quick note — sorry, no rational or completely ridiculous arguments right now — to thank everyone who has visited us the last couple of weeks.
Our page views have escalated dramatically recently and thanks go mostly to the educated fantasy sports-aholics over at Fantasy Baseball Cafe (www.fantasybaseballcafe.com).
Also, thanks to visitors from www.razzball.com, www.disabledlistinformer.com, www.babeslovebaseball.com, www.sloppypotatoes.com, www.twitter.com and anyone who stumbled here from www.stumbleupon.com.
This weekend we launched our message boards, which John mentioned in his last post, feel free to stop over, join the discussion and rank up through our Ninja Army. Leave us feedback about Chinstrap Ninjas on the boards, at the site or e-mail us at ep@chinstrapninjas.com or jzak@chinstrapninjas.com, we’d love to hear from you.
Hope all is well during your holiday weekend. May you find time between holiday gatherings to enjoy the Sunday sports smorgasbord.

Sorry, no breaking fantasy football news at this time, just an announcement about some under the hood stuff here at www.chinstrapninjas.com. We now have a Guestbook, please go sign up if you have not already. Also, our About Us page is a little more about us and a little less Web site filler. You’ll find both jzak’s and ep’s welcome letters on the page and another plea to sign our Guestbook.

John Zaktansky was so succinct in his initial post that I thought about not
posting another welcome. But, ninja code and all, it felt like the right thing to do.
Like jzak said, we’re not experts. In fact, I feel like I’m 0-4 in a couple leagues, and we haven’t even gotten to week 4 yet. Of course, I have a couple leagues where I feel pretty good too. How many of you are in the same boat?
If you feel the pain/joy, please hang out and contribute at www.chinstrapninjas.com. Our goal, as jzak mentioned, is to have fun and inform, but also to get informed ourselves. We want to build a ninja army, a whole nation of fantasy sports assassins helping each other dice up the competition. However, unlike ninjas, we don’t want to spend all of our time in the shadows. When divisions are clinched, championships are won, and your rewards are raining from the sky onto you, we want everyone to know a ninja did it. And we all want to know about it. We want to celebrate it here at Chinstrap Ninjas. Let us know how you did it, what players put you over the top and what players you beat along the way.
Yeah, we’re going to have the standard email us and leave a comment features like every other blog and Web site out there, but we’re going to go a little further. When you get some hot news that hasn’t been posted here yet, submit it to us and we’ll attribute it to you. Have an idea for a post? Don’t just send us a tip, write your own post and we’ll put you on our front page.
Won’t you join our army?
Cheers,
Eric Pehowic (ep)
