Fantasy football 2011-2012 NFL Playoffs Week 2 | Fantasy cheat sheet update

Here’s your updated cheat sheet Ninjas. After last week’s crazy finish, who knows what we’re in for in 2011-2012 NFL Playoffs Week 2.

This week I deleted the eliminated players and added a few others — like Demaryius Thomas, who wasn’t even on last week’s list after the way Tim Tebow and company ended the regular season.

Once again, the player rankings below reflect teams and players who will not only score high fantasy points the rest of the way, but also have the best chance to make the Super Bowl

If you are playing in playoff challenges this week, good luck. Everyone enjoy the games.

For kickers and defenses, opportunity is going to be about as important as skill, so these rankings reflect which teams I think have the best chance to go far in the playoffs. I think Atlanta and Detroit have a better chance of playing in two games than San Francisco does. But if the 49ers advance it will be because of their defense and David Akers, so I boosted them ahead of the Falcons and Lions on the following two lists.

Kickers

  1. John Kasay
  2. Mason Crosby
  3. Stephen Gostkowski
  4. Neil Rackers
  5. Lawrence Tynes
  6. Billy Cundiff
  7. David Akers
  8. Matt Prater
  9. Shayne Graham

Defenses

  1. Saints
  2. Packers
  3. Ravens
  4. Giants
  5. Patriots
  6. Texans
  7. Niners
  8. Broncos

EP, Sorry but I do not agree with the pats being any thing less than 3. If the QB is 3,WR-1, TE-2, RB-5, K-3 and the D-5 than the math alone by my count would divide to 3rd. I am picking the Pats to go to the Super bowl against the Giants. But thats why they play the games. Good Luck with your site in the comming year. Dante

Dante Bruno: You’re right, I should have moved Eli Manning up to third QB. It just didn’t seem right. The team ranking reflects my thought that the best NFC team is going to win everything. The Packers are the favorite, but the Saints and Giants had momentum going into the second round.

I didn’t think it was likely, but I thought it was possible that the Broncos — and all of their luck — could beat the Patriots this week. The Patriots are the best AFC playoff team, they won their last eight regular season games, but they allowed at least 20 points in the last six and had the second worst pass defense in the league in 2011. Tim Tebow to Demaryius Thomas looked pretty good last week.

If the Patriots play like they did against the Broncos Saturday night — even though they won’t be facing an option offense next week — they’ll win it all. I’m not sure triple coverage would have stopped Gronkowski.

I’m rooting for the Giants all the way, but if they can’t make it I’d love to see Brady and Rodgers vs. the two worst pass defenses in the NFL.

Thanks for the good luck wishes.
