Fantasy Football 2011: Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Wonders
The season is still young, and there are plenty of sleepers out there. The question is which player do you grab?
Whether you’re 0-5 or 5-0, you should always look to make your team better. Here’s seven players that I believe will make your team stronger.
Defensive linemen
Brian Robison, DE, MIN
Robison recorded 2 sacks in two of his last three games. With a quality matchup coming up against “Da Bears,” he’s a must add.
Michael Bennett, DE, TBB
In week 4 Bennett had 5 total tackles, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and also recovered a fumble. He followed it up in week 5 with 4 tackles. As long as he keeps getting tackles, games like the one in week 4 are bonuses.
Linebackers
Brian Rolle, LB, PHI
Good bye Casey Matthews, hello fellow rookie Brian Rolle. Rolle tallied nine total tackles in Week 5 and appears to be in line to play sub-packages. A three-down linebacker on the waiver wire doesn’t happen very often. Pick him up now before it’s too late.
Jamaal Westerman, LB, NYJ
Westerman replaced Bryan Thomas (out for season) in the Jets lineup. He definitely made his presence known by recording five tackles and two sacks versus Tom Brady and the Patriots. If you need a replacement linebacker, you could do a lot worse than Westerman.
Defensive backs
Jason Allen CB, HOU
For the second straight week, Allen has recorded an interception and over eight solo tackles. Need I say more?
Captain Munnerlyn CB, CAR
Finally Munnerlyn is starting to be fantasy relevant. After getting six solos and a sack in Week 5, and a quality matchup coming up against Atlanta’s passing attack in Week 6, Munnerlyn should be added to your roster.
Jamarca Sanford, S, MIN
Sanford isn’t much of a tackler but he does have that big-play ability which he put on display against Arizona. Sanford recorded two interceptions and two passes defensed. He’s worth a roster spot in deep leagues. Keep him on your watch list at the very least.
