Fantasy Football Daily Games | 2013 Week 16 safe players with upside

As I said last week, I’ve been branching out my research and trying new things to try to crack this daily game nut.

One of the sites you should take advantage of is www.rotogrinders.com. No affiliation here, just me tipping my cap to a site I’ve been using for the last two weeks. Some of their stuff is behind a pay wall, but they offer a lot of great features if you sign up for a free account.

I hope to do a fantasy arsenal series soon and RotoGrinders will definitely be featured.

They offer several different sortable stats charts.

I kept digging and came up with a couple players which look like they have a high floor (are expected to perform well even if they have a “bad” game) and a high ceiling (could perform well above expected). Players with a ($) are prime targets at FanDuel this week.

High floor, high ceiling

Quarterbacks

Peyton Manning, Broncos; Andy Dalton ($), Bengals; Philip Rivers ($), Chargers; Jay Cutler ($), Bears; Ben Roethlisberger ($), Steelers; Kirk Cousins ($), Washington

Running backs

LeSean McCoy ($), Eagles; Jamaal Charles ($), Chiefs; Rashad Jennings, Raiders; Alfred Morris ($), Washington.

Wide receivers

Demaryius Thomas/Eric Decker, Broncos; A.J. Green ($), Bengals; Keenan Allen ($), Chargers; Brandon Marshall/Alshon Jeffery ($), Bears; Antonio Brown/Emmanuel Sanders, Steelers; Pierre Garcon ($), Washington

Tight ends

Julius Thomas, Broncos; Antonio Gates ($), Chargers; Martellus Bennett, Bears; Heath Miller, Steelers

High floor

As a bonus, here are a couple players with a high floor, but might not be able to greatly outperform their cost. Consider them for 50/50 league and head-to-head contests:

  • Quarterback: Tony Romo, Jason Campbell
  • Running backs: DeAngelo Williams, C.J. Spiller/Fred Jackson
  • Wide receivers: Josh Gordon, Dez Bryant
  • Tight ends: Jason Witten, Jordan Cameron (Cameron is out)

High ceiling

Here are some potentially volatile players who could reach their ceiling or fail to reach their floor. Consider them in large tournaments with a top-heavy payout structure, where upside rules:

  • Quarterbacks: Matthew Stafford, Matt Schaub
  • Running backs: Knowshon Moreno/Montee Ball, Chris Johnson, Eddie Lacy, Adrian Peterson
  • Wide receivers: Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Nate Burleson, DeAndre Hopkins
  • Tight ends: Ryan Griffin, Brandon Pettigrew (Pettigrew is out)

Good luck this week in all of your leagues.
