Nobody from the early game, Clippers-Bulls, will be on the list because we already missed that deadline.
As always, check starters and player news before roster lock. NBA players can take off — or have the coach force them to take off — randomly. You can’t win with a 0 in your lineup.
Here are the players I’m targeting Sunday afternoon and evening.
NBA DFS Draft Kings Value Plays for Sunday, March 1
D.J. Augustin, $4,100 — Augustin has been mostly silent since playing in the shadow of Russell Westbrook. With Westbrook out, Augustin has a chance to resemble the player he was with the Pistons. He’s almost a must-start if he starts today. I’m also paying up for Tyreke Evans, $7,700, and will have some exposure to Isaiah Thomas, $6,000 and Mo Williams, $6,400.
Will Barton, $3,600 — Barton is shooting .542 from the field in the last three games and has scored 22 real points to lead the Nuggets in scoring in consecutive games. I have a feeling his usage and minutes are going to stay pretty good at least one more game. He also gets to face the Pelicans who have given up the fourth most fantasy points to shooting guards over the last three weeks. I’m also considering James Harden, $10,500, Wesley Matthews, $5,600 and Avery Bradley, $5,700.
Dante Cunningham, $3,400, or Nicolas Batum, $5,600 — I probably have too much Cunningham in my lineups. He’s running with the starters with Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson out. He had a double-double last game out, he’s shooting 35% above his season average in his last 10 and he has at least one steal and at least one block in seven-of-eight games. And he faces the Nuggets, who’ve allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards. Batum doesn’t have as good a matchup. but even with his relative dud last time out, he’s still playing well above his salary. You could also consider Michael Kidd Gilchrist, $5,800, Rudy Gay, $7,300, Trevor Ariza, $5,900 and Wesley Johnson, $3,700.
Jae Crowder, $4,700 — Crowder has scored 25, 35, 32 and 33 fantasy points in his last four games. As long as he is getting about 30 minutes of playing time he’s worth starting at this price. I’m also targeting Terrence Jones, $6,800, LaMarcus Aldridge, $8,900, and Serge Ibaka, $7,600. I paid up for Aldridge in most of my lineups today. He might be the best value on the board.
Timofey Mozgov, $5,300 — The Rockets have given up the sixth-most points to opposing centers and Mozgov has a 20-point floor. I’m betting he scores 30 points. I mostly have Nikola Vucevic, $8,600, in my starting lineups today. I also recommend Joakim Noah, $6,800, and Al Jefferson, $7,400. DeAndre Jordan is at the top of my list, but his game already started.
Good luck today and every day.
