These matchups are going to be a little light on commentary this week.
At least that’s my plan.
I’m trying something new at Draft Kings and I want to put some time into it. Hopefully it works and we can use it to our advantage for the rest of the season.
I have high confidence in these matchups. We’re only talking about teams that have meet good/bad matchup criteria for the whole season, the last five weeks and the last three weeks. If a matchup doesn’t fit in all three categories, then it has to have a significant number in the last-five-weeks and last-three-weeks.
The players are ordered based on season-long adjusted fantasy points allowed. The numbers next to the names are fantasy points allowed by position and the NFL rank in that category in the last five weeks. For receivers we’ve included the yards the defense has allowed per game to that receiver type.
Quarterback top matchups
Shaun Hill vs. Washington — 24.8, 2nd
Eli Manning vs. Tennessee — 21.6, 9th
Ryan Tannehill vs. Baltimore — 29.7. 1st — Nobody’d talking about Tannehill as a play this week. Could be a great contrarian start. His receivers all have plus matchups too.
Andy Dalton vs. Pittsburgh — 23.5, 6th — Will we get good Dalton or bad Dalton?
Philip Rivers vs. New England — 23.6, 5th — It’ll be interesting to see what the Patriots try to take away from the Chargers in this one
Derek Carr vs. San Francisco — 14.4, 4th
Mark Sanchez vs. Seattle — 10.7, 1st
Joe Flacco vs. Miami — 13.7, 3rd
Drew Stanton vs. Kansas City — 17.7, 11th
Peyton Manning vs. Buffalo — 16.3, 8th — Manning is matchup proof and he’s playing at home. You’re not going to bench him in your standard leagues and you might want to put him in a DFS lineup. But I wouldn’t go all in on Manning lineups at every DFS site.
