Tight end matchups for Week 14: Sleepers and busts

These matchups are going to be a little light on commentary this week.

At least that’s my plan.

I’m trying something new at Draft Kings and I want to put some time into it. Hopefully it works and we can use it to our advantage for the rest of the season.

I have high confidence in these matchups. We’re only talking about teams that have meet good/bad matchup criteria for the whole season, the last five weeks and the last three weeks. If a matchup doesn’t fit in all three categories, then it has to have a significant number in the last-five-weeks and last-three-weeks.

The players are ordered based on season-long adjusted fantasy points allowed. The numbers next to the names are fantasy points allowed by position and the NFL rank in that category in the last five weeks. For receivers we’ve included the yards the defense has allowed per game to that receiver type.

Week 14 projections

Week 14 matchups: PASS | RUN | WR1 | WR2 | WR3/4 | TE | RB (rec.)

Best tight end matchups

Jared Cook/Lance Kendricks vs. Washington — 16.3, 3rd

Travis Kelce/Anthony Fasano vs. Arizona — 14.5, 7th

Kyle Rudolph/Chase Ford vs. New York Jets — 15.9, 4th

Jordan Cameron vs. Indianapolis — 17.2, 2nd — Cameron may not play. If he doesn’t look elsewhere.

Levine Toilolo vs. Green Bay — 13.8, 9th

Charles Clay/Dion Sims vs. Baltimore — 16.3, 3rd — Clay is questionable. Sims caught four passes for 58 yards last week in Clay’s place.

Luke Stocker/Cameron Brate vs. Detroit — 18.9, 1st — Probably not a good sleeper play despite the matchup.

Worst matchups

Owen Daniels vs. Miami — 2.2, 1st

Marcedes Lewis/Clay Harbor vs. Houston — 5.4, 4th

John Carlson vs. Kansas City — 5.3, 3rd

Julius Thomas vs. Buffalo — 6.9, 5th

Heath Miller vs. Cincinnati — 4.7, 2nd

Jordan Reed/Niles Paul/Logan Paulsen vs. St. Louis — 7.8, 7th
