My schedule is still a little out of whack, but who needs sleep, Ninja. Not us, because it’s fantasy football playoffs time for many of us, pending your league size and/or structure. Hopefully you all won your division and got first round byes this week.
Sit back, relax and enjoy some football. Maybe throw your hat in some DFS? If you haven’t signed up for Draft Kings yet, consider this pretty sweet deal. If you sign up after clicking on my personal affiliate link between now and Dec. 14 you get $25 Draft Kings bucks and I get $25 Draft Kings bucks to use on the site. You can also click this link to help out Chinstrap Ninjas we get a few fractions of a cent when people click and a few cents when people sign up and deposit through that link, but there’s no $25 bonus for either of us there.
Thanks for considering and sorry for the sales pitch (even though it’s a pretty good deal).
Where were we, oh, right, playoffs. Fantasy football playoffs also means snow games. Bask in the glory of it Ninja. This is how football was meant to be played, on the Frozen Tundra. Yep, I capitalized it. It should be trademarked.
Don’t let Mother Nature rain on your good fortune this season. The Thursday game is in Arizona and there’s a retractable roof there, so no big deal. But how about early December games in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Kansas City, St. Louis and Denver.
Weather can have a profound effect on fantasy baseball, even washing out half a slate of games completely.
It’s rare weather that wipes an NFL game off the schedule, but clear skies, high winds, rain, snow and cold can have positive and negative affects on skill positions across the board.
Severe wind, cold and rain may affect quarterbacks and kickers most, boosting a team’s running attempts. That said, you almost never want to bench your studs over weather concerns except maybe in the case of extreme winds. Offensive players have to deal with a slippery pigskin and poor field conditions, but unlike defenders, they know where they are going. Defenders have to react to cuts and jukes. Explosive direction shifts lead to spinouts and open receivers/running lanes.
A few years ago, we received permission from Accuweather.com to link to the weather from each of the NFL stadium cities. Click the links on the chart to go to www.accuweather.com’s forecast for the stadium. As it always is with weather forecasts, skies can change in a second so check the weather the day before or the day of the game to get the most accurate information.
