Week 2 fantasy football preview with projections: Giants at Colts

Manning Bowl II. No game caused my anticipation to level spike like it during the preseason. For a Giants fan like me, a fan of Peyton Manning and a fan of the NFL in general, this game in Indianapolis is a perfect storm of football.

I just found out yesterday that I don’t have to work Sunday night either. Awesome. These are some of the fantasy matchups I’ll be watching.

Just like we did for last week’s projections, 2009 statistics factor in significantly but Week 1 provides added depth. Again, this is no perfect model. There are many improvements that could be made but we had relatively good accuracy with it last week despite the flaws. Translation: Use these at your own discretion but they should be pretty darn good.

Younger brother’s projected to beat older brother 27-23, but there are going to be so many Mannings in the same building it would be wise not to bet against either of them.

Matchups

Last week, Eli Manning was picked off three times but also threw three TDs and found a way to win. Peyton Manning threw for approximately 1,400 yards last week against the Texans despite getting harassed by Mario Williams all game. This is a new week. Eli has a less-than-favorable matchup against a defense that found a way to hold Andre Johnson in check. Peyton gets a defense that sacked Panthers QBs four times last week.

Ahmad Bradshaw should have his best game of the year against a Texans defense still reeling from the beating Arian Foster put on them last week.

Joseph Addai? This is another horrible matchup for Addai, against a Giants defense that allowed less than 90 yards on the ground to the terrific DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.
