What’s not to like about this game? AFC East rivals, a great offense vs. a great defense.
Should be some fun football. Fantasy football heaven? Hardly.
Just like we did for last week’s projections, 2009 statistics factor in significantly but Week 1 provides added depth. Again, this is no perfect model. There are many improvements that could be made but we had relatively good accuracy with it last week despite the flaws. Translation: Use these at your own discretion but they should be pretty darn good.
The Patriots win 22-18, according to the projections, but it’s doubtful the Patriots score that many points.
Darrell Revis gets his own matchup mention every week. He’ll shut down Randy Moss, hindering fantasy owners who must play their studs. That won’t hinder Tom Brady, but don’t expect another 3-TD game against the Jets defense.
Starting free safety Brodney Pool won’t be manning the middle for the Jets, so that could open some holes for Wes Welker and the Patriots tight ends.
The Jets were putrid on offense last week. They should find a little more success against the Patriots, but not much.
This should be a good matchup for the Jets wide receivers and the numbers say Mark Sanchez is going to have nearly 200 yards passing. But I’ll believe it when I see it.
