The Seahawks’ performance in Week 1 was one of the biggest surprises of the season so far for me. Not only did Matt Hasselbeck throw a pair of TD passes, the Seahawks’ defense held strong, too.
It’ll be interesting to see if those were flukes or if Seattle came to play in 2010.
Just like we did for last week’s projections, 2009 statistics factor in significantly but Week 1 provides added depth. Again, this is no perfect model. There are many improvements that could be made but we had relatively good accuracy with it last week despite the flaws. Translation: Use these at your own discretion but they should be pretty darn good.
The Seahawks are projected to keep rolling here early with an impressive 23-17 win.
Last week the Seahawks allowed just 49 yards rushing to Frank Gore and the 49ers. That’s a miniscule amount for a team with a running back like that. It’ll be interesting to see if the 49ers bounce back or if the Seahawks are for real this week.
Denver’s defensive backs made Mike Sims-Walker disappear last week. They should concentrate all of their defensive firepower on Mike Williams this week. It’ll be interesting to see who steps up.
Denver will see if Brandon Lloyd can be good for more than just one game and their trio of receivers could be in for another decent day at work.
