2011 Week 7: Waiver Wire Wonders

Here is the recommended waiver wire adds for week 7.  Remember to qualify for this list the player must be less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues.

QB – Tim Tebow – (47% owned) Tebow posted 18 fantasy points in one half of play two weeks ago in all 6 point TD leagues.  He was a fantasy beast as well last year when he was afforded the opportunity to play.  Hard to believe he is only 47% owned coming into the week.

RB – Jackie Battle – (37% owned)  It appears Battle may have won the starting running back gig in Kansas City on his performance from week 5.  He could be a starter the rest of the year and be a great piece to have during these upcoming bye weeks.

RB – DeMarco Murray – (11% owned) Murray might be ready to Lou Gehrig the oft injured Felix Jones right out of a job.  He has the talent to succeed.  Now he will be given the opportunity as Felix misses 2-4 weeks with high ankle sprain and shoulder problems.

WR – Michael Crabtree – (42% owned) Crabtree continues to impress over the past few weeks.  He recorded 9 receptions for 77 yards in the win over Detroit last week.  I normally do not recommend picking up a player on his bye week, but it is getting to be slim pickings at the wide receiver position on the wire at the moment.

TE – Fred Davis – (44% owned) Davis had the breakout game I had predicted against the Eagles by posting 6 receptions for 95 yards.  With Chris Cooley possibly missing the remainder of the season with a hand issue, look for Davis to be a top notch TE option moving forward.

DEF – Dallas – (49 % owned) Dallas plays St Louis in Week 7 who will probably be missing starting quarterback Sam Bradford due to a high ankle sprain.  AJ Feeley will start.  The last time I check, Feeley was better at throwing pick sixes to the other team than throwing touchdowns to his teammates.

    Sockonfl,

I’m surprised you don’t have Greg Little or Greg Salas in there, are they more than 50% owned already?

I had seen both of these guys coming and grabbed them up back in week 2 but lost patience and dropped both. I have a waiver claim in for Little again.

What site r u using to figure out ownership percentages? Just curious.

Chris: Actually Greg Little is only 17% owned at the moment and has posted two nice back to back games. He would probably fall in the same category as Crabtree and make for a nice add if you are looking for wide receiver help.

Greg Salas I need to see being a bit more consistent before I buy. Plus with Brandon Lloyd coming over to the Rams in the trade and Mark Clayton coming off PUP this week, Salas’ looks could be drastically limited going forward.

Nick: I use Yahoo for the ownership percentages as stated in the first paragraph of the article.

It is possible that with the arrival of Lloyd, Salas will see decreased looks. It is also possible that Lloyd will draw coverage and result in more looks for Salas.

It’s amazing that a WR who was widely considered a bust can become a superstar after one breakout year. Let’s keep in mind too that injury notwithstanding, Lloyd is fully responsible for an extremely less than stellar first quarter of this year.

It will be curious to see how this pans out.

Sorry, jumped right to the players. My bad.
